Goals for 2011

2010 has been a crazy ride. I graduate college, got married, moved to Gretna, and changed my hair a few dozen times. :) I'm definitely enjoying all of the changes in my life right now however, I'd like to add a few changes this year.

First off, I want to be more involved with Church. I want to help out more with any opportunity that presents itself to me. I also want to spend more time in devotions. After high school my faith kind of took the back burner to my college education and I'm definitely not proud of that and I want to get my priorities back in order.

Second, I'd like to become a better wife. I'll admit, I can be a very selfish person but I don't want to be. This year I want to work on prioritizing my time to be better at juggling my responsibilities at home and at work.

Third, I'd like to be healthier. I've gotten very lazy with my fitness and I definitely have not been eating as well as I should be. I would love to play hockey again, run again, just all the things I use to do to keep active.

So there they are. I have the goals I want to work on, now it's just time to follow through and achieve them.
wish me luck :)
and prayer would be nice as well :)

Sophie

Dogs have owners, cats have staff

Meet Sophie, our 7 month old kitten. We've had her since she was 10 weeks old and she is really really strange. You see, she has some strange habits. One being that she sucks on blankets. The one she is sitting on in the above image is her favorite. Another weird thing about her is that she will eat anything. Her favorite foods are popcorn, shell noodles, chips, oh, and most recently, foam..... She also enjoys the occasional spider or lady bug.
Now, all of these issues don't really bother me. The worst thing about Sophie is that she is evil....

She attacks people and she can be pretty vicious about it... She has left very deep scratch marks on myself and my husband as well as our friends... oh, and she's declawed in the front but that doesn't stop her. She uses her front paws to latch on to an extremity and then claws with her back paws and bites as hard as she can....
And yet another issue.... NOTHING phases her. Not a spray bottle, not a toy to distract her, not anything.... In fact, she likes water so basically she roams around the house and does whatever she pleases(jumping around on counters, biting, clawing up the walls as well as my new kitchen table....) because we can do nothing to stop her...
At this point, I'm thinkin she needs a shock collar....
Got any tips for me? Because we're at our wits end with our little angel.
Oh, and get this, Chase even called up a vet for advice. They told him to contact a pet behavior specialist... the nearest one is in Kansas City...

The kicker about all of this is that any time we ask a vet or someone at the humane society about our issues with her they all just tell us that since she was taken away from her mother at 2 weeks old, she may have these issues the rest of her life and that they will probably just keep getting worse.. awesome

I love our cat and would never give her up because I know that others may not be so nice to her when she is on the attack...
When she's good she's good, but when she's bad........... it's almost impossible to deal with...

Please send tips. We are willing to try almost anything at this point.

My first post

How exciting, I finally have a blog :)

I've always enjoyed checking out my sister's blog as well as other friend's blogs so I thought I'd try this out :)

Might as well start off the site with some very exciting news. My friend and I sent in a tryout to sing the National Anthem at a Lancer game this season and we were accepted!!!!! So, we will definately be letting you all know very soon when we are singing because will would love to have you there. Oh man, there is no way for me to express how excited I am about this. I use to sing all the time when I was back in high school but once I entered college I had no time for my favorite hobby. Now that I am done with all that college junk I plan on taking up a lot of the things I was not able to do during school.

Wanna see the tryout? Because here it is :)

I hope you like it!
and... I hope Jackie doesn't mind me posting it on here :)
